Here’s a glossary of the most common Amazon FBA terms you’ll come across. Use this page as a quick reference whenever you see something you don’t recognise.

📦 Fulfilment & Listings

  • FBA → Fulfilled by Amazon (Amazon stores, packs, and ships your products)

  • FBM → Fulfilled by Merchant (you store and ship products yourself)

  • SFP → Seller Fulfilled Prime (you ship yourself, but with Prime delivery standards)

  • ASIN → Amazon Standard Identifier Number (unique ID for every product on Amazon)

📊 Sales & Ranking

  • BSR → Best Seller Rank (the lower the number, the more sales the product gets)

  • BB | Buy Box → The purchase box on a product listing. Awarded to the seller with the best mix of price, service, and delivery speed.

🛒 Sourcing Methods

  • A2A (Amazon to Amazon) → Buying discounted stock from Amazon and reselling it back on Amazon at a higher price.

  • OA (Online Arbitrage) → Buying products from online retailers to resell on Amazon.

  • RA (Retail Arbitrage) → Buying products in physical stores to resell on Amazon.

🔓 Restrictions & Payments

  • Ungating → The process of removing selling restrictions so you can sell a product/brand/category.

  • Account Reserve → A portion of your balance Amazon holds back to cover refunds, returns, or chargebacks.

🏢 Fulfilment Centre Status

  • FC → Fulfilment Centre (Amazon’s warehouses)

  • FC Transfer → When stock is being moved between fulfilment centres. While in transfer, delivery times may show as delayed.

  • Reserved → Units that are being held for a customer purchase (usually up to 48 hours while payment clears).
